I can only tell them apart when they are together (the female being larger than the male). They were side by side moments before this photo, then he flew to the nest and she stayed put and soaked up some rays 😀

I knew that was the case with eagles, but I learned from an expert in birds of prey over the weekend that that is how it is with all raptors. Who knew?
