Yesterday I went down to the shore to see what I could see (and, perhaps, capture a photo or two).
And what did I see?
Only an enormous Bald Eagle perched on a piling just off-shore. Looking for dinner, no doubt (worth a click to see the full size image).A few short moments later this magnificent creature took flight and flew away, to who knows where.
Oh what I wouldn’t have given for a stronger telephoto lens in that moment. Still, I was in the right place, at the right time, made the best use of the tools available to me, and came away with a fortunate capture.
I call that a success (and the colors and reflections aren’t half bad either 😉 ).
Happy Saturday wherever you are.
where is taken at?
On the Olympic Peninsula, along The Strait of Juan de Fuca, in Washington State.
Fabulous – and what a great chance encounter. I think you did very well indeed with the tools you had!
Yeah, how lucky was I?! Thank you Dee.
What an awesome sight that would of been to see that. Great set of images well done.
It’s always awesome to be in the presence of such a magnificent creature. I was indeed fortunate. Thank you Shane.
