Life On a Hamster Wheel

Running and running and running – running until exhausted – but going nowhere.

Fast.

What to do when the life we have created has become like a hamster wheel?

Running and running and running – running until exhausted – but going nowhere.

Fast.

Do we just keep on running in the self-delusion that if keep on running in place we’ll magically make some sort of progress?

Can you see the absolute futility in that approach?

Or, do we step off the wheel and begin moving across solid ground?

In the end, forward motion only happens on solid ground.

(Deep breath) Step off the wheel.

  1. How often I have asked this question in my life time, I think I lost count, enjoyed the way you expressed the way life can actually become at times, but its wiser still to stop; rest a while, and start again on solid ground

  2. I know it’s been said a lot but what is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. You are right….do we have the strength to step off that wheel and do something different? I hope so…
