No Foolin’

“In the long run it makes little difference how cleverly others are deceived; if we are not doing what we are best equipped to do, or doing well what we have undertaken as our personal contribution to the world’s work, at least by way of an earnestly followed avocation, there will be a core of unhappiness in our lives which will be more and more difficult to ignore as the years pass.” ~ Dorothea Brande (Wake Up & Live)

Are we….

Pursuing the dream?
Or, trapped in a nightmare?
Showing up as our best selves?
Or, settling for something less?
Stepping up and standing out?
Or, groveling and hiding?
Displaying authenticity?
Or, putting on an act?
Living courageously?
Or, consumed by fear?
Reaching for our potential?
Or, stuck in a dead end?
Boldly living our truth?
Or, timidly languishing in a lie?
Consistently giving our very best?
Or, always taking without regard?
Fulfilling our God given purpose?
Or, leaving a major void where our purpose should be?
Happy and fulfilled?
Or, unhappy and disatisfied?

We may be able to fool others (for a while),
But there is no foolin’ ourselves.
