“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
― Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning

They can scorn us. They can mock us. They can bully us. They can belittle us. They can insult us. They can degrade us. They can even take away our physical liberty. But they can never take away our freedom to choose our own attitude toward all of it.
Unless, and until, we allow them to do so.
Not easy by any stretch of the imagination. But can you imagine the power of an individual who possesses the personal mastery required to choose their own attitude – their own way – in spite of any, and all, adversity?
This, the last of the human freedoms, can never be taken away.
Wherever we may be today, whatever circumstances we may be facing, let’s choose our own attitude and let our colors of freedom shine brightly.
